These were the words of the newly-crowned Miss Guyana-India Katherina Roshana in her acceptance speech after being crowned by Tahiri Boodhoo, the first runner-up of the Miss Guyana-India 2012 contest, due to the absence of Miss India Worldwide title holder Alana Seebarran at the ceremony held at the Princess Hotel ballroom, East Bank Demerara on Saturday evening.
The group ‘Apsara’ crowned the stunning beauty. The ceremony was chaired by Miss Guyana-India 2011, Roshini Boodhoo. The show was spiced with cultural dances by the Apsara group, singing by Andy Rattan, a dramatic piece, a modelling segment, and a performance by Miss Guyana-India 2012 best-talent winner, Artie Deodat.  Roshana also graced the audience with her talented dancing skills.
Present at the ceremony were Chief Executive Officer of Lux Entertainment, designer Sonia Noel and businessman Anil Beharry, who were on the panel of judges on the night of the audition when Roshana was selected as the best candidate to represent Guyana. Roshana will be the fifth queen Guyana sends to the pageant. At the closing of the ceremony after Roshana was crowned, she delivered a heart-warming acceptance speech.
